Yes, you can update your bank details. However, your new account name must be the same with your Mshel Capitech account name.

What is an individual loan?

An individual loan is a type of loan given to specific individuals to meet personal needs. Individual loans can be secured or unsecured. The unsecured loans range from 10,000 – 100,000 naira while the secured loans range between 100,000 – 5 million naira

What is a cooperate loan?

This is a type of loan given to organisations or companies. All cooperate loans are secured and range between 500, 000 – 20 million naira.

What is a secured loan?

A secured loan requires a collateral like a house, land, car or any major property.

What is an unsecured loan?

An unsecured loan does not require a collateral.

Am I eligible for a Mshel Loan?

You are eligible for a Mshel loan if;

  • As an individual you are above the age of 18 and are resident in Nigeria
  • As a foreigner, you must have been resident within the country for a minimum of 5 years
  • As a Cooperate organization, you are duly registered under the Cooperate Affairs Commission and located within Nigeria
What is the maximum and minimum amount I can borrow?

As an individual loan, you can borrow between 10,000 – 100,000 naira for unsecured loans and between 100,000 – 5 million naira for secured loans. Cooperate loans range between 500, 000 – 20 million naira. However, you cannot borrow more than 60% of your monthly income for loans that are unsecured. This law becomes flexible when your credit score points are impressive and consistent over time.

What is the interest rate for Mshel loans?

Interest rate for Mshel loans range from 7% -15%. The interest to be charged on your loan is to be determined by the company based on your credit worthiness. Your credit worthiness is determined from the information you provide during application

What documents do I need to apply for a loan?

For individual loans, you need;

  • A valid means of identification (national identity card, international passport, permanent voters card or driver’s license)
  • 6 months bank statement
  • upload valid means of identification for yourself
  • upload valid means of identification for Next of kin

For cooperate loans, you need;

  • Complete Company’s profile (Certificate of Incooperation, Particulars of Directors, Articles of Association, Certificates of registration of relevant professional bodies, evidence of contribution to Industrial Training Fund, Evidence of clearance from the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund, Special Control Unit Against Money Laundering and the Federal Inland Revenue Service)
  • 6 months bank statement of account
  • Valid means of identification (national identity card, international passport, permanent voters card or driver’s license) for guarantors.
  • Valid means of identification (national identity card, international passport, permanent voters card or driver’s license) for signatories to account.
